Enough

When I was young I did not understand
How you could hate another fellow human
Just because you think you know something you don't know
About who they are, based on how you've been taught to perceive
& now I see how easy it is to water
The weeds of greed, all ugly things it fathers
I didn't want to believe it could be inside of me
But now I see Everything is inside of me
& its my responsibility my ability to respond
& to hold space to let the shadows dissipate
To go within and face my demons
Those dregs of fear that disappear when i show love,
When I show up and release the blame
Understanding this game is of my own
& everything I see, everything I hear is a reflection
Reminding me that “I Am”
Not just “me”
Who are you beyond your kin; beneath your skin
Who are we beyond our identities
So can we agree that these greedy seeds
Have been overwatered and over pollinated
Across the nation and across the ocean
Let's choose the water the plans
Plans to uproot all this rotten fruit and tangled branches
We can rebuild
We can refill
We will rise
Arising on time
So who are you beyond your kin; beneath your skin
Who are we beyond our identities
When can we agree
That enough is enough
Because I think we've hurt enough
But have I done enough
Have we bled enough
You are Enough

Ineffable

If I am that I am
What am I but a reflection
of all the infinite forms
of my mind
& as I must take form
what could I be
no-thing becomes every thing eternally
Do you know one to hold your hand
as you cross the threshold of death?
Are you willing to accept that every shadow
To be seen or felt
Is cast from You
& I know I cannot explain the ineffable
But that's not gonna stop me from singing into the mystery
with the only words I care to share
How can I stop
& what I could do
I am you and you are me cresting in and out of an infinite sea of unknown mind
I am you and you are me in an infinite maze of mind-mirrors, mirroring the becoming
& I know that I cannot explain the ineffable
But I can't stop from singing into the mystery
only with words I care to share

My sister, my brothers – I ask you
what do you need from this dream?
Will you believe, this dream is for you
Every time you leave your mind
to be filled with some fodder
You are investing your life into a story
written not by you
Tell me, how does that feel
I'm asking.. how does that feel?
Awakening doesn't have to mean
aborting your current dream
Would you believe that you are here
To be here ..
My brothers, my sister
I'm wondering what could I do
how can I serve you
Certainly we need more sustenance
Than this occasional song & dance
Enjoy this shift my friends
Enjoy your dreams while you're here to be
Dreaming..

Today's The Day

if I go to sleep I know
I can dream anything
so what is different about this life
can I feel that freedom
With my eyes open wide
& my heart dreaming out loud
'cause when I do I see you and me
Dancing around the fire singing
I am that I am
& you are that too
I am all I see
You are that light too
now that we know
we can build anything
what do you want to see?
What do you want to
give the next seven generations
What will you have your descendants sing?
Songs cursing you for their misery
Or songs of gratitude that we may sing
I am that I am
& you are that too
I am all I see
You are that light too
